It`s because you can hear the original that they can change it. Hell,
half the time they don`t subtitle when a character calls out someone`s
name because you don`t need to read what you can already hear and
understand. I suppose they could write Ahiru (Duck) every time, so the
fact you`re suppose to think `duck` every time you hear the name sinks
in.
